For some reason whenever I do, this quote from Robin Williams in Vietnam springs to mind:

We’ve got a special man in the audience today right now. It’s Mr. Leo. He’s a fashion consultant “Thank you, i’m just very happy to be here. I want to tell you something.” What’s that? “You know, this whole camouflage thing, for me, doesn’t work really well.” Why is that? “Because if you go in the jungle, I can’t see you. You know, it’s like wearing stripes and plaid. For me, I want to do something different. You go in the jungle, make a statement. If you’re going to fight, clash. You know what I mean?

  1. The masaai warrior tribes in Kenya and Tanzania wear bright red robes for the same reason – their theory is that when they walk through the bush they don’t want to be camouflaged, they want to say to the lions “so, here we are, we are not afraid, come and get us if you dare”….

  2. I’ve never thought of our brave boys in blue (do they wear blue too?) as Masaai Warriors… but from now on…

Riayn – they are probably checking you have your little yellow bags with you!

  3. Hahaha… oh boy – that put a smile on my face! I remember that movie and line so well – geez I laughed at that flick! I wore a sailor uniform for many years, and a soldiers uniform before that – when the camouflage came in – cams just don’t do it for me at all! Navy uniforms are a whole other matter… lol

You have a good Christmas CB – all the best to you and yours…

    Cheers 😉
