Broken foot

Ever wished your child had broken a bone? I confess I did today. If that sounds cruel let me explain.

Hugamuga whacked the heel of his foot against his bedstead last night and it was so painful he had to have panadol. This is a kid who hates taking medicine. Anyway he went off to sleep so I thought well it should be okay…

This morning however it was swollen and sore and he couldn’t put any weight on it so I thought I should be a good parent and take him to the doctors. I hate going to the doctors – it seems such a waste to go along and have them prescribe rest and panadol. Well the doc seemed to think there was merit in getting an xray so I figured – hmmm well if we can get an xray done quickly we’ll get it done otherwise we’ll wait and see if it gets better on its own.

Of course they could see us straight-away although it took them half an hour to print the photo and type out a report saying there was no fracture.

KER CHING!!!!

So he’s to stay off his foot and take panadol if the pain gets bad.

Got home from work today and he tells me it’s much better and a small part of me was annoyed.
