Went back for my second physio appointment today.  My shoulder is much better thanks for asking, and although still stiff doesn’t make me want to die.  So I felt a bit of a cry-baby going for my follow-up appointment. 

After I demonstrated how much more movement I had in my neck – a full 180 – with only slight stiffness to the right as opposed to barely 90 yesterday – I thought he’d say “well done, I don’t need to see you anymore”.  But he didn’t.  I got a compliment on my new sandshoes, a shoulder massage, acupuncture (I thought physios didn’t dabble in the dark arts – I was wrong) and some homework.  It’s all posture related apparently.  Sigh.

The acupuncture was interesting, I haven’t had it before.  I couldn’t feel the needle at all – just a slight tingling when he jiggled it around a bit.  Not sure how much good it’s done but I’m sure it hasn’t done harm.

Well my shoulder has from sometime in the wee smalls. Two little kids

NeighboursWe went down south for the long weekend and ended up for part of the time on a winery close to where those two little kids went missing the weekend before.  At the time I couldn’t believe they could go missing so easily but the bush there is really thick, unbelievably so.

At work, I was bracing myself for the news and I know that a number of journos covering the story had already sketched out their scripts for bad news.  Even when the news came that the kids had been found, many assumed initially they’d been found dead.  So you can imagine the relief.  Big burly policemen had to compose themselves. 🙂

I work with snobs*

I’m taking a stand at work.  I may be standing out there on my own but I am admitting to the world at large that I do watch Big Brother.  I even enjoy it.

Today we had a big reality tv bashing session and we had a lot of people look down their noses and agree that it was all very awful and why on earth would anyone watch it… this attitude obviously appeals to the over 55s. But even my younger hipper colleagues refuse to talk about it unless they have to.

Last week, there was an interesting question raised.  Should BB have told Emma that her father had died?  Even the BBC rang us up to find out what the talkback response had been and I had to tell them that no-one here wanted to talk about it.

It’s an interesting dilemma.  Would you want to know?  Would you defy the father’s wishes who said not to tell her?  How are they going to handle the news when she comes out?  Already the producers have to be careful that a message doesn’t accidentally get to her by way of an audience sign or something.
