It is with some trepidation that I wish you all a Happy Easter.
The last time I politely wished a lovely old lady Happy Easter, she snappishly returned:
“Don’t say that to me! Don’t you know what happened on Good Friday? There’s nothing happy in that!”
I was too taken aback to say another word and today – two years later – think twice before wishing anyone happy Easter before Sunday.
Well, except for people I know… like you…
I hope you have a great weekend whatever you get up to. It’s a great chance to catch up with family and friends and relax.

Oooh, it’s a minefield! So, I’m going to say “Happy Chocolate Holiday” just to be safe.
I have always wondered why we call it ‘Good’ Friday.
Sounds like the little old lady knew what happened on Good Friday but had no idea of what happened on Easter Sunday. I reckon that’s good enough reason to celebrate. For that reason alone I wish you and your readers a very HAPPY EASTER!!
I agree that Easter greetings can be tricky. As this week calls for healing and spiritual renewal, I say “Blessed and Happy Easter” to you!
I usually say have a good weekend and save the happy easter for family members. My weekend kicked off well, spent the day with three of my children, a son-in-law, and two grandchildren. Tomorrow my niece will drop in to say hi, next day I go to see the fourth child and his family. Good times all round. I hope you and your family have a lovely easter.
