A new governor

After a very long day we’re back in Umbria. Spent part of the morning at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum of Modern Art in Venice. Quite amazing art – every significant painter of the 20s-60s from America and Europe is represented – and a special exhibition of Jackson Pollock works. I can hardly keep my eyelids open as we spent the rest of the day on a train. Tomorrow I will update my diary properly but for now – my mind awhirl with all we have done and the fact my sister Cath arrives from the US tomorrow with her family.

While my brains settle it gives me a chance to add my congratulations to Ken and Julie Michael as the new Governor and his lady for Western Australia. What joyous tidings to receive on our return. You could not get the grin off Dad’s face all night. (Dad and Ken’s friendship was forged at St George’s) We can’t think of a better choice or a more gracious couple to represent Western Australia. Congratulations!
